Borracho Beans Nebraska Style


6 c. pinto beans
1 onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic minced
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. chili powder
1 lb. bacon cut up
12 oz. beer
9-10 c. water

Put all ingredients in crock pot and cook on low overnight. Add additional water if needed. Before serving, add 4 jalapeno peppers* seeded and chopped, 2 tomatoes chopped and small bunch of cilantro if desired.
Serve over corn chips with sour cream and shredded cheese. May also be served over corn bread.
*Amount of Jalapenos can be adjusted to suit personal tastes.
